Mi movido mes de junio // My busy June

Empecemos por el principio. A comienzos de mes fui a la región de Istria a pasar un fin de semana con amigos Erasmus a una casa en mitad de la nada para celebrar el cumpleaños de una amiga. Nos bañamos en la piscina, hicimos barbacoa, comimos, jugamos a muchos juegos  y lo pasamos en grande.  ¡Ah! Y también enseñé a bailar sevillanas a algunos (fue muy divertido).

Let's start from the beginning. During the first days of June me and some Erasmus friends went to a house in Istria for the weekend to celebrate our friend's birthday. We took many baths in the pool, had a barbecue, ate a lot of food, played several games and had a lot of fun. Oh! And I also taught sevillanas to some of them (funniest moment of the weekend!).

Todo muy bien hasta que pocos días después, la mayoría de estos amigos Erasmus regresaron a sus respectivos países. Volvieron así los momentos de decir adiós (o hasta luego), los regalos de despedida, las lágrimas y los abrazos interminables. Sin duda, una de las cosas más características del voluntariado es que te vas despidiendo de gente a lo largo de tu camino.

Everything was fine until some days later, these Erasmus friends had to leave to their respective countries. And here they came again the farewell parties, the goodbye presents, the tears and the endless hugs. Without a doubt, the most characteristic thing about EVS is that you have to say goodbye to many people along your stay.

Pero por otro lado, no sólo te despides de gente sino que también conoces gente nueva. Eso nos pasó a finales de mes en el Midterm Training en Split. El "Midterm" consiste en que varios voluntarios del país pasan unos días juntos en una ciudad conviviendo y yendo a "clases" en las que se habla sobre voluntariado, sobre lo que habíamos hecho hasta ahora, sobre cómo seguir aprendiendo, también sobre qué posibilidades u opciones hay después del voluntariado, etcétera. Estuvo muy interesante, no solo por las clases sino también por, como he dicho antes, conocer y hacer nuevos amigos de diferentes países (como Italia, Colombia, Alemania, España, Portugal, etc.)

On the other hand, though, you don't only say goodbye, but you also get to meet new people. That's what happened at the end of the month in our Midterm Training. This training consists of many volunteers in the same country spend some days together making activities together and attending some courses about volunteering. In our case we talked about what we had been doing so far, what we had achieved, what we still need to achieve, what to do after EVS, etc. It was quite interesting, not only because of the lessons but because, as I said, I got to meet new people and make new friends from many different countries (like Italy, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Portugal, etc.)

 También hice un viaje por Croacia con una amiga a final de mes, pero eso os lo cuento en el próximo post. Hasta julio ;)
